Interesting: At floor 50 one set of stairs is outside the core with 2 inside but up to floor 49 they are all inside. I'm pretty sure the fire code has something to say about that. Especially since the 9/11/01 they are very sensitive about protecting stair egress from fire and other forms of damage as much as possible.

They have notched the edge of the concrete floors almost certainly for the cladding panels and I think I see a couple of the panels lying on one of the floors ready for installation:

The core has now also caught up with the all-steel 181 Fremont a block away:

I can't wait to see some glass on this steel. I think it will turn out pretty spectacular and be an instant positive landmark.

The original design called for a pair of giant wind turbines behind the crown screening, which of course determined the whole design. I believe the turbine was "value engineered" away but the design otherwise left the same (hope has not died that one could be retrofitted, though: http://www.bizjournals.com/sanfranci...-transbay.html ). I've said before it reminds me of a sand worm from Dune. But it's not nearly as bad as you suggest and, frankly, as good or better than most very tall buildings of the current era (nothing will equal the Empire State and Chrysler).

I live in Jersey City, and this tower always reminds me of the Goldman Sachs building, only it's been bleached and streeeeetched out.

Agreed. Salesforce Tower also reminds me of Gran Torre Santiago:

It does resemble the Gran Torre, but its the same designer and that look is popular the world over these days. Still a lovely addition.

Exciting that construction has been done at a faster pace. Still probably take till early next year to top out.

Not sure why you are saying that. So far there has been absolutely no slow-down from their rapid pace that would indicate that they might miss the deadline.
