Santiago-Vigo line.
Carril station (closed).

Carril was the end of the first railway line in Galicia, the Santiago-Carril line.
As time went by, it was extended further south to Pontevedra and Vigo.
And much later, as Vilagarcía de Arousa station was too close, it ended up closing, many years ago.
The station will be left off the new line, but maybe not permanently, since we´re not sure about the closure of the section A Escravitude-Vilagarcía because it serves three stations with a reasonable number of passengers (Catoira, Pontecesures and Padrón).

Map of the Adif rail network in 2014.

The railway network run by Adif in 2014 measures 14,347 km in wide gauge (standard + Iberian), and 1,211 km in metric gauge (ex-Feve + Cercedilla-Cotos line).

Here´s a simple map about it, with a link to a short article (in Spanish):

Thanks for the map. Do you know how much of it is in a standard gauge?

It´s considered (it is) an upgraded classic line.

You mean in kms? If you mean that, I´ll have to check some data.
If you mean which lines, it´s on the map (which has some grave mistakes btw, like the location of Vitoria instead of Logroño and the absence of the Orejo-Liérganes branch line).

Madrid-Avila-Valladolid-Burgos-Vitoria-Irun/Hendaye line.
Between Venta de Baños and Magaz stations.

A coupling of two class S-120 doing an Alvia Madrid-Bilbao and an Alvia Madrid-Hendaye on their way to the North. They´ll split at Miranda de Ebro station:

Is there any news on camarillas bypass? The trackbed was finished 2 or 3 years ago, it should not take that long to just install the rails, the new route does not even require electrification, very poor planning if you ask me.

If you invest money into infrastructure, at least finish it or don't start until you have all the financing secured. Leaving a half finished railway like that is a triple waste of money.

Yes, I meant in km. I wondered how many km of high speed rail are in Spain at the moment. Except for that small stretch in Galicia it's pretty much the same thing as how much in standard gauge.
