Orezul published cab view from freight train negotiating Castellbisbal - Cerbere "corridor". This is pretty unique opportunity to see Barcelona freight bypass and access to break of gauge transhipment facility at Cerbere. Interested people should watch it before some dumbasses will take it down as they did with Videotren and other cab views like Ourense-Santiago.

Villena station (Alicante province, southeastern Spain).

A morning Talgo bound for Valencia and Barcelona under the snow.

Snow is not very usual here... but not as strange as one could expect. I found myself in one of these a few years ago.
In fact, both the classic line and the HSL had to be cut due to the amount of snow on the tracks.

All pics by RDaneel.

It was (iirc) Adif that took them down. Copyright, I think they said. Go figure...

Really nice video. I'll be editing this post tomorrow with some comments.

The upper platforms at Girona station are in dire need of an upgrade, they're too low for such a busy station.
Boarding a class 449 EMU there is hellish, you really need to climb up the train. But the worst is when the occasional class 465 EMU appears. The Everest!

On the other hand, the underground platforms (the ones for high-speed), are ok.
The upper platforms should look like the underground ones.

This is the picture description on Flickr:

Quote:
Tren Hotel Gijón-Barcelona atravesando a 200 km/h los campos del Penedès puntualmente a pocos kilómetros de su destino.

Si mal no recuerdo, fue la penúltima ocasión en la que fotografié este servicio antes de su desaparición.
Free translation:

Night train Gijón-Barcelona running punctually at 200 km/h through the Penedès fields only a few kilometers before reaching its final destination.

If I recall correctly, it was the next-to-last time I took a picture of this service before it was discontinued.

Some hints:

The Penedès is a rural area between Barcelona and Tarragona especially known for its vineyards (you can spot them in the background of the picture).

The picture was taken in May 2013. The Gijón-Barcelona service is no longer a night train but a daytime service operated with S-130 dual-gauge trains.

The pic was taken near Lavern. In hindsight you can spot La Granada. Both villages have stations on the classic line.

AFAIK no, but we could enlarge it...

Renfe + FEVE, and inside FEVE, northern line, Leon line and Cartagena line
and inside Renfe, HSR, Long distance, regionals, commuters...
(and inside commuter, line C-10 in Madrid and Castilla y Leon)

FGV, Valencia (with underground) and Alicante
FGC, with train to Nuria indeed

And.... news about Gran Canaria railways?

Cab ride from Alcoi to Xativa on a class 592 DMU.
After the video ends, the train did reverse at Xativa station, then continue to Valencia.

As you will see, the line is in dire need of an upgrade.

(spoiler: mechanical signalling inside)

Cab ride: from Oviedo to San Esteban de Pravia

A delicious little autumn cab ride on a Renfe class 436 EMU (former Feve class 3600).

The train leaves Oviedo (head of the Northern region of Asturias), then follows the Oviedo-Trubia line, a former Iberian gauge line that was shrunken to metric gauge some 20 years ago (more or less, can't remember the exact dates right now), leaving it just before the bridge over the river Nalon and then meeting the old Vasco-Asturiano line at Soto-Udrión station. Then it continues one more station to Trubia, where it reverses, then follows the scenic Nalon valley to the end by the sea.

Note how the driver has to slow down between Sanranón and San Esteban de Pravia stations to avoid running over two stray dogs who decided to troll a bit.

Hope you'll enjoy the ride.
