Thnx! Good progress on the cladding and looks like there's going to be a spire since the cranes have increased in height even further.

Actually I don't think the cranes' height have increased since mid-April, comparing e.g. with a
pic on April, 24th by 234sale.
But from then on, there has been that height gap between cranes and rooftop, that should be big enough to built at least the lowest spire part - the octaeder... the thin part could be jacked up as well, I guess.

But I'll keep my fingers crossed that you're optimism is right, Dennis!

Obvious? From the pix I don't see something happening at the very top.

And as for the cranes comparison: the difference is the vanished jack at the right crane - a clear sign that this one won't go any higher.

Exactly... I think this tower is in a kind of "On Hold"... I can see only progress in the facade (and probably in the interiors) but not in the top...

I think the towers look great as is. There's no need for long skinny spires on top.

Well, if you want the top to look like a nice crown feature, then you need at least a short fat spire to complete the good picture.....

Not going to happen as it adds no value, look at the Islamic Bank Finnancial Towers, same redesign...

A shorter, fatter spire wouldn't be bad. But as 234sale said it probably wouldn't add any value. Other than extra height. But if the spire were illuminated it would make the towers stand out and drive peoples attention to it.

Do we know what the height is without the spires? I think Culwalla's diagrams put it around 1,066 feet/325 meters.

Whats with Dubai taking spires out at the last minute? It completes the design and with out it, to me it looks incomplete.
Especially when we've been looking at the render for the past years in anticipation for the final look. Is this saving any money or something? Whats the advantage? Is a short fat spire really any cheaper than the original spire.
Islamic bank towers look hideous now.
