Hey - more spire parts are up, making the spire look about 4x as tall as on the previous pic!
The upper half is way thinner than the rest.

Is it topped out? Probably: I doubt the crane could put one more segment without being jacked up.
No problem for this crane - but the other one has lost its self-erecting jack months ago.
So the second tower would remain spireless then.

And the diamond feature? No incident - actually the straight scaffolding tells the opposite, IMO.

The actual scafolding around the spire means absolutely nothing on regard to the prospect of the diamond at the base. After the spire itself is fully completed, they can remove the scafolding and go ahead with the 'diamond'.

The 2nd tower's spire has increased in height as well, to what I think would be the 1/3 of the total.

South Tower closeup...
looks to me as if the lightning rod has finished the spire, so first of Emirates Park Towers would be T/O:

If you look close at SkyscraperCityMan's first picture you can see work is restarting on Bay Gate 240 meters 53 floors!!! I can't find it's thread however in the World Forum section.

Half of the top thinner part of the spire on the North Tower is up, so you can say now it is as tall as the part till where the scaffolding stands on the latest picture of the South tower.

BTW, the scaffolding there is going down and only 1/4 of the spire is currently wrapped with it (South Tower).

That gives Dubai 13 x 1,000 foot skyscrapers. More than the next two cities with the most, Hong Kong (7) and Chicago (5) combined. Amazing!

Here it is broiled down: there are 23 supertalls under construction or built in Dubai right now. After that New York has 9 u/c or built, Hong Kong has 7 built and Chicago has 6 built. Combine all three and you still haven't matched Dubai in supertalls.
