Khatib & Alami have designed this 333m tall hotel which will become the world tallest hotel when its completed in 2007. The project comprises a 73- floor, furnished-apartments, high-rise hotel tower situated in the Shaikh Zayed highway in Dubai. The mixed-use development project will offer 600 furnished apartments in addition to a nine-storey car park to be connected to the tower by a pedestrian bridge. On the roof, a swimming pool and health club will be available.

The top part of the tower is taking a significant amount of time compared to what the the rest of the structure has taken. It is probably because the focus is somewhere else right now.

I think the top part of this tower is going to appear in many movies

In that aerial shot it looks like they're putting the first few pieces of facade in the crown section. You can see the silver stripes starting to go in.

Nah, that figure is from 2003 or something, when the building was first announced. Like always, Dubai developers underestimate the costs, or don't include all of them. Maybe 68m was including only the main structure.

However, since that time the construction costs have increased dramatically and that figure doesn't say anything.

whoaa .. i like tht uninterrupted view from atop satwa... .. look so sleek !!

i despise advertisemnts on buildings ... especially this one .. damn ! it totally spoils the look of this tower .

What Happend

Is the construction of the top on a halt or are they still working. From the previous month the building looks exactly the same.
