So if it is a "shower head," will it collapse back into the ball?

There is NO wire stretching toward the spire. Don't add things in the pic that aren't there at all.

Altin, look at the pic, there is a wire plane and simple.

So I ask again, what do you guys think of the wire stretching towards the spire?

Huh? That bit of 'wire' you circled is it - it's not connected to the spire. It's just a piece of loose wire moving due to wind!

Everytime they put that showerhead out, all lists in the world with tallest towers should correct the height of this tower

^That just gave me an idea. Someone should design a tower with a retractable, modular spire. If a taller building is erected somewhere else in the world, just slide the spire up a little higher!

They say Burj Dubai might do that, not only for higher height but also to retract the spire in case of a severe storm.

That looks like an old idea, given the chrysler building trick.

Relax. It's just a retractable utility structure. If I understand correctly, it has already been retracted.

This would explain also the asymethric positioning of the spire on the side and not centrally on top of the ball.

Cladding work at the top is almost completed, but that flying saucer on the very top looks damn strange. I hope that it will be lifted only at night

Don't think height will change. The "shower" is not the structural height.
