Most of the coast in the Netherlands are beaches & dunes, simply because it is the only natural line of defense we have against the sea. The Netherlands doesn't have a warm climate, so virtually all tourists come out of the country itself and countries close to it (Germany, Belgium, UK). The dutch coast is well known in those countries (especially in Belgium and Germany). On hot days and in the summer season it is very crowded. The pictures taken are on cold days and/or on quiet moments of the day. There isn't a period of sun garantee, which many famous beaches in the world have.

The pictures are very nice, as a child I came a lot in this area. In the summer it is a tourist paradise in Zeeland. On good days you have the beach, on bad days you have the many small historical towns and cities. I love Middelburg, Zierikzee, and Veere. Officially they are all cities, but Veere for example had more inhabitants (3000) in 1600, than it has now (1627). It gives an excellent picture how a typical small old dutch city looked like in the Dutch golden age.
