Yes, absolutely. It will definitely help with attracting some tourism towards Mostar, and should help when it comes to trying to attract some funding from Western sources for building the Sarajevo-Mostar section.

I'm not convinced we'll see any more expansion (except a Mostar bypass) of the A1 in the near future, though.

FBiH needs new 870 million Euros for highway construction

Federation of BiH needs 870 million Euros in the next four years in order to meet its goals when it comes to construction of highways, FBiH minister for transport and communications Denis Lasic has said.

The plan is to have 70 percent of Corridor 5c completed by then. [...]

Further Construction of Highway not possible without Increase in Excise Taxes?

[...]
In the coming four years, Lasić said, it is necessary to provide another 870 million EUR in order for FB&H to have 70 percent of highway on the Corridor 5C completed.

“However, further construction of the highway will not be possible without increasing excise taxes on fuel. Loan capacity with 10 fennings is drained and it is necessary to proceed with an increase to 20 fennings since that is the only way to maintain the continuation of construction of the Corridor 5C,” Lasić highlighted.

That would put Bosnia's prices on a par with her neighbours, wouldn't it?

Not yet. Last summer price of gasoline was about 25 eurocent per liter cheaper than in Croatia. 10 to 20 fennings increase means about 5 to 10 eurocent.

If I got the article right, there are 7 bidders for the construction of the Save bridge (18.9 million € - 24.6 million €) but still no decision after 2 months. The old Strabag contract was 20.9 million €. There's an issue about 535,000 € now but I don't understand what's the problem . The bridge should be completed by late 2017 (EIB funds).

The work is now paused, expected to resume in March 2017 and be completed by the end of 2017.

Given that the crucial bridge over Sava won't be ready until 2017-2018 (at the earliest), this segment won't be usable until then.

2 months isn't that long - PL tendered S2 26 months! About the 535000€ problem: seems they are too capricious when it comes to a bit of money. They could have left them alone(a relatively small sum(100 m maybe) and never mind that question again. And forget it as the s***ty nightmare of yesterday's.

It is a lot when it's the third time they are doing the procedure. Construction was suppose to start 2012 after the first tender was awarded. Now it's becoming big joke because the banks that are financing the bridge had to cancel the previous two tenders for suspected fixing results in favor of one company.

Why they did not start the bridge construction together with the motorway on the both sides of the river ? roads almost ready no bridge

I guess they have spent more than 535000€ on sueing them to give the money out as the lawyers' services, so that resembles me two men from the fairy tale of Ignacy Krasicki saying one sued 2000 zl(like a mln bucks now) one died because he lost his mind from losing while the other starved as he spent more than that on the lawyers. They also spend something no one will be able to recover: nerves, and they spend them a lot. So I think this is the most stupid loss of possessions. Go on!
