At least they also built a decent bypass of Odžak, so traffic heading south doesn't have to go through town.

When completed, traffic has to stop 4 times over 6 kilometers. First to pay toll on the Croatian side, followed by Croatian customs, then Bosnian customs and finally to pay toll on the Bosnian side.

How many times do we have to go trough this? Of course RS is interested in building its part of A1 since it is also a part of future Banja Luka-Bijeljina highway.

Highways Dominate Balkan Mini-Summit in Albania

[...]
But the main topic of the Durres meeting is the "Blue Highway", a major road project designed connect the coasts of Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro and Albania, ending in Greece.
[...]

More info: BalkanInsight

The project of the Blue Highway starts, it links the West Balkan countries

[...]
The plan is for this to be a single highway. It starts in Trieste (Italy) and goes through Slovenia and Rijeka in Croatia. Most of the segment in Croatia consists of the A1. Near Dubrovnik, the Adriatic-Ionian highway will pass through Bosnia and Herzegovina to Trebinja in Montenegro. There it will continue through Podgorica and then in Durres, Albania to continue to Greece. In Greece, this highway will pass in Yoannina and Patra ending in Kallamata.

So far, they are only just interested. However, they are not pushing this route as hard as they are pushing Banjaluka-Gradiska, Banjaluka-Doboj, Banjaluka-Split or Banjaluka-Prijedor.

Is there any info whether the road should feature 4 lanes (a continuous motorway-like road) or (partially) 2 lanes only?

Anyway, it's a project of the remote future...

As far as I know, the whole route should be dual carriageway motorway. The intention is to make that route international (part of the E-road network).

Croatian part is mostly finished (A1 from Žuta Lokva to BIH border and A7 from SLO border to Rijeka, cca 450 km), so "only" the A7 from Rijeka to Žuta Lokva needs to be done (cca 60 km).

Other countries have more job to do, although their parts are not so long (nevertheless, BIH and MNE terrain is pretty rough).

In Germany we have a saying for this: "Alter Wein in neuen Schläuchen" which means something like you put something old in a new package to make it look new...

Thats's nothin else then the long-known Adriatic–Ionian motorway, now just called "Blue Highway"...

That's why I asked. I think that the "Adriatic-Ionian motorway" should obviously be a 4-laned motorway but I was not sure about the "Blue Highway" standard. That means I was not sure if just the "old project" is discussed again or if the project was downgraded to a 2-laned road.

No, it's the same old thing. Difference is that the money should come from China. We had that already some months ago in the Albanian or Montenegro thread.

The G FBiH adopted a Decision on the Construction of the Bridge “Pocitelj”

On today’s meeting, the Government of FBiH adopted a number of decisions on the continuation of the construction of sub-sections on Corridor 5C, and they gave the approval to the inspectors of the Federal Administration for Inspection to work on non-working days as well.

“For beginning of the construction of the bridge ‘Pocitelj’ we made the decision on expropriation. All documentation for the construction of the subsection Klopce-Donja Gracanica is completed, and the value of this project is around 36 million EUR. Now we just need to get the green light from the EBRD on crediting this section, which will happen in the next month,” said Denis Lasic, Minister of Transport and Communications of FBiH.

I wonder why no one asked, so I'll ask...

Pocitelj bridge is in the south of the country near Medugorje/Capljina/Mostar but Klopce-Donja is in the north of the country, Zenica bypass (section mentioned in the previous post which is partially u/c since late 2014). Which section has "not yet green light from EBRD on crediting"?

Is only the Medugorje – Pocitelj section still waiting for funding?

If yes, it's strange because I thought that the contract was already signed:

No section is actually waiting for funding because all funding is approved we are all waiting to see how the tri-party tug-o-war for directors seat is going to be resolved. That is the only reason that there has not been any announcement.
Sections funded and finished the selection
A1: Medugorje – Pocitelj - Its actually divided into two sections of 6.67 km and 4.4km11.1km EiB funding
A1: Donja Gracanica – Drivusa 5.78km OPEC and EBRD funding

Also funded but tender waiting resolution of infighting
A1: Pocitelj - Buna 7.2km EBRD funding
A1: Donja Gracanica – Zenica (north) 3.9km EBRD funding
