The blue ones are going to be demolished, that's simple objects.

But this road it's not going far. It will end with future rounabout about 100 meters from this railway flyover.

What are the plans after this section has been completed(including that roundabout you have mentioned)?

It's officially temporary solution, but it will last for long time.

They will connect this road (LOT2c) with Safet Zajko street (1x1) through this roundabout.

On the picture you could see blue line which represents future plans for this roads, but until they decide to continue with Sarajevo city motorway, this roundabout solution will stay.

This is the plan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-saxNPZ_RA&app=desktop

It's planned since the 1970's. Most likely also some kind of project for the Olympic Winter Games in 1984. However, the only things build apart from the recent parts are a tunnel and parts of a bridge: https://goo.gl/maps/z1PLFWCR5M12

It seems that the construction works took longer than 7 or 8 months. Is there any estimated opening date?

Has the road got any numbering meanwhile?

LOT2c is not actually Sarajevo City Highway, it's just only a small section of that future road which will not be priority until Corridor Vc is finished.

So when they finish the LOT2c section we will have around 30% of Sarajevo City Highway and it will be enough for now.

That section covers less than one kilometar bond between Briješće interchange and Safet Zajko street. It was difficult to construct it because it conatains huge mound, and railway overpass.

There is no opening date because unfortunately it's practice in Bosnia that projects are often not finished on time.

Thanks for your response. It sounds like a report about a German road project

Only a very short section is built. Still sections be be done. Construction is always more difficult than expected and projects are usually not finished on time.

The only difference to Germany is, that authorities, politicians or anyone else usually announce an estimated completion date - which will be delayed again and again.

The reason for the delay is not due to difficult construction. The actual issue is unresolved acquiring of the land needed for construction.

New traffic tariffs have been implemented today in BiH. Penalties for drink driving, not using seat belts or carrying children without safety seats will be much higher from now. New, built-up area signs are to erase, too, which, in my opinion, will make driving far easier in Bosnia & Herzegovina. By now, it was quite hard to recognise end of speed limitation, because of randomly located signs.

Long overdue, if you ask me. It was always one of the most difficult things about driving through BiH, as it was never clear where the limits actually ended.

About the new sections of A1 - if they can get the Prenj tunnel constructed, suddenly the completion of Corridor Vc looks realistic. There really should be an extension of Corridor Vc through Slovakia to Zilina though, especially now that the route from the Polish border in Cieszyn to Zilina will be of a decent standard.

I know it's optimstic, but I dream of a decent route from Katowice through to Mostar.

That tunnel would help a lot indeed. Just hoping that those statements are not part of some pre-election campaign.

To be honest, Bosnia and Herzegovina is facing some really hard issues in motorway / highway construction.

At this time, we have active construction at only two sections and those are Prnjavor - Banja Luka (36 km, nice terrain, one short tunnel, few long bridges and overpases) and Zenica Bypass (10 km, really hard terrain, mostly consisted of short tunnels, bridges and overpases).

We also got the money for the sections Međugorje - Počitelj and Počitelj - Buna, but main problem as always in B&H is politics.

We will wait at least 10 years for completing the Corridor Vc.

Is there any news about the neighboring sections Mostar-South - Pocitelj and Pocitelj - Medugorje? Any announced construction begin date?

No, as I said in my last post, we got the money from EBRD for that sections, and Federal goverment blew it up.

Because of the suspicious public tender, EBRD started investigation. So I thought that those will be done before the Parliament elections in 2018, but we won't see that sections done before 2019.
