That rule exists in more countries and is for prohibiting entering people who don't have any mobey an it prevents the state paying for them if they are in any trouble. Nothing new, HR did have such a rule for a long time and none will check it.. I have never been checked therefore on any border, and surely not on HR and BIH borders.

The Neum checks are quite strict already, I have crossed it two times now the last days, and even with some cars before me in queue it costed me some 15 minutes waiting time.

Thanks for the pictures, but the information must be incorrect. I assume the distance of 5,3km from the border crossing is the one to Exit Zvirovići? But that is as we can see on the pictures very far from being finished. I guess from the pictures an opening of the section could take place maybe in 06/2015 instead of 06/2013...

Some clarification would be great.

How will the traffic (sepecially trucks) till the new border crossing -which is in fact one of only two fully equipped crossings between BiH and EU-Croatia - be organized?

A truck coming from Mostar has to go to Ljubuški and then towards Crveni Grm then to Bijača... (M17, M6, R-424, R423) thats quite a detour, isn´t it? And those roads in fact never leave settlements, especially M6 between Čapljina and Ljubuški.

Another question, will border crossing Gabela Polje (on R425a) remain an "international" crossing after July 1st?

Great photos, new motorways in the western Balkans look very pretty with that kind of surroundings (SLO/HR/BIH).

My information is correct and the first section 4,1km witch goes to rest area Kravice is finished (has been 01/2013) but will not be used while the 1,2 km (started construction 01/2013) section to the border will be in use starting 28.06.2013 . The next section starts at rest area Kravice and goes to intersection Medugorije (also known as Exit Zvirovići) is the one under construction (another 5km opening 6/2014).

This border-crossing (one of 2 the other being B. Gradiska) is now important (ONLY) for products of animal and plant origins and the increase will not be that great because there other 4 boarder-crossings for other products going to the EU. Passengers do not have to use these 'international' boarder crossings so there is no need for them to come to this crossing until the next section is open 6/2014.

The two roads that intersect the first exit have been rebuilt until M6. So there should be no problems.

Međugorje should have some tourist-attraction symbol. Maybe church but it's unclear from picture.

Domestic destinations are usually written both in latin and cyrillic. Other destinations only in latin.

First two pics are from Federation BiH (Neum), the last one is from Republika Srpska (Trebinje).
While it is clear that in BiH after the Dayton agreement both scripts (latin and cyrillic) are compulsory on motorways, state roads and border crossings; this is obvious hard to implement in regions where cyrillic letter was probably never in public use in modern times (Neum, Ljubuški, Bijača). On your first picture (obviously taken in Neum) one can see that all cyrillic markings are sprayed. And if one go to jp autoceste website, there was set of pictures taken shortly before opening of A1 to the border crossing Bijača where all cyrillic markings on new green tables were sprayed too.
However it is interesting that in Neum they left cyrillic marking for foreign destination (Split) intact. Maybe they are angry on Croatia for building Pelješac bridge, which will avoid Neum as well. Who knows.

No, all are from BiH. The first two in Neum, the other in Trebinje.

Unfortunately this picture was too unsharp, but it is taken om tne M17 near Mostar, where Dubrovnik is both in Latin and cyrillic too.

Sorry, I already improved my post. The roundabout in Trebinje (where I was never been) resembled me on similar one in Herceg Novi (where I was recently).
