According to this pictures this section should be opened in September or August 2014.

Another small question

Does anyone know about the prices in car parks in Sarajevo? I need to find somewhere to leave my car for a couple of days. I don't need/want one of the parking garages, but just a simple car park somewhere in the centre.

I've got two accommodation offers, one comes with a private parking space, the other doesn't, but the one without is a much nicer place.

I'd strongly recommend you book accommodation with the parking spot or at least park your car somewhere indoors. You've got many public parkings in downtown, but trust me (especially since youre gonna leave your car on the same spot for a decent amount of time) it would be better to park it in some of the underground parkings (you have those in every single shopping center).

Unfortunately car thefts and break-ins are not so rare in Sarajevo.

The problem with that is that they're all so stupidly expensive - that's why I'm wondering if there are any reasonably priced parking lots there. I don't mind paying 20KM a day, but paying 2KM/hour is just madness.

Yes, I know: There aren't any road works since at least 25 years and don't expect any in the upcoming years. There are other plans and more important projects...

And no, I don't understand why it wasn't finished at all in the past.

Madness, but entirely understandable I guess when you consider the vast amount of work that had to be done post-WW2 to even connect up most places within Yugoslavia, it's not a huge surprise that a road in the middle of nowhere wasn't finished.

It's a pity - the road on the Montenegrin side looks to be completely insane (I've spotted one picture of a tunnel with an intersection inside), but my wife won't agree to go on gravel roads

Ι used this one last year, for two days at 8 euros per day.

It's always guarded, the car came out the same way it came in . The guys there speak German as well, a bonus as I don't speak Bosnian. Try it if it's close to your hotel.

Thank you! 8 Euro a day is more than reasonable - even if it's gone up to 10 Euro, it's fine - it's very close to where we're staying. I've had another offer of 10 Euro, but further away - so thank you!

I speak Polish, so I can communicate with the locals - for instance - "all day" - cijeli dan in Bosnian, cały dzień in Polish. It's close enough

As for the car itself - it's not the car I'm worried about, but rather being able to find a space. I can't park to save my life, even my wife laughs at my diabolical attempts at parking

Yes, and my favourite - "dobro jutro". I was watching TV in Sarajevo a few years ago and just couldn't understand why they kept saying this to all their guests on breakfast time TV

I'm still trying to find out about the actual condition of the road from Foca to Scepan Polje - it seems that it only has small sections of gravel, but does anyone know for certain?

Eulanthe you should ask guys on the serbian thread about that road cause that's the usual route they take on the way to Montenegrin coast (well since noone here knows the answer).

Really? Why on earth do they go that way?

I know it's supposedly the quickest way to go from Podgorica to Zagreb, but...

Google Earth has 2013 imagery of that area. While you can't read pavement quality from satellite imagery (unless you work at NSA), it seems that it is paved, but narrow and curvy.

It could be mistaken for the M8 from Foča to the Montenegro border (towards Pljevlja). This road is gravel and likely not passable in the border area.
