For the same reason Iran doesn't provide spanish and french translations: they're useless. I didn't say anything about place names, translating those when they're already in a Latin script would indeed be silly.

If someone's transiting through a country in Europe (which is very common) and there's a huge pileup or slippery conditions on the road ahead, it's downright irresponsible to not provide warnings in English on overhead signs in addition to whatever local language is used. This is not silly, it's common sense.

In Iran Motorways are called Freeways. These highway that doesn't have the freeway standards are called expressways. A road type lower than Freeways

Yes, Peugeot is a very big brand in Iran. The Pars is a facelift of the 405, and was originally to be named Peugeot Persia.

Most cars in Iran are manufactured locally, because almost all cars run on leaded fuel (hence the incredible air pollution in Iranian megacities).

Thanks
I'm not so happy about pictures I made this year as I had to use zoom everywhere.
I dream about Algeria. It's one of the TOP 5 countries in the area where I haven't been yet. I really hope to visit it during next years. Inshallah

Motorway 2 from Tehran to Qazwin
It's one of the most important roads for Iran connecting Tehran to Tabriz and from there on to Turkey and Europe or Middle East. All the traffic from Tehran to Azerbaijan or Armenia and Georgia is using also the same road until Qazwin.
The first part of the road is actually urban motorway through Tehran's industrial western part and then it continues through western satellite towns so first ~50 km of motorway is very important for Greater Tehran also.

Junction of motorway with Ekbatan expressway. The real beginning of motorway is ~2,5 km behind us

Exit for Eram Park. There are also lot of new and big parks in this area of Tehran.

Exit for Iran Khodro. It's the biggest car manufacturing company in Iran. Most of the area to the left of motorway is covered with big car factories belonging to different companies.

Metro line 5 is running parallel to motorway most of the time. It's actually more like suburban train connecting western parts of Greater Tehran to the city center and using double decker trains.

City of Tehran is officially ending somewhere here but the suburbs are still continuing. It's some 30 km from the beginning of motorway.

Seems that it's not working for some years now. Probably because it's cheaper to let the people drive for free than rebuild the station for huge traffic running on motorway. Road tolls on Iranian motorways are really small and more like symbolic.
