I have mentioned this before, but again, this is the proposed 51,2m/15floor tall highrise at Espenes, Hamar. First proposed in 2004, then up to the council in 2007 and met strong opposition obviously. The last decision i know of was to wait with the highrise untill better analysis of highrises in Hamar was done, which was done earlier this year. So maybe this one still live, or its dead. Architects is LARKAS AS from Lillehammer.

So what was the outcome of these analysis?

So there are 3 proposals from Hamar then? This one + the stadium highrise + the one at the northern town-square?

It looks like this will be a much needed improvement. Ålesund is perhaps the most beautiful city we have in Noway, but the town hall has been sticking out like a sore thumb.

its very much needed indeed, but i would not mind it looking even better than what it appears on the render (which is kinda bad too, so i can't say much).

The render from bygg.no is a bit better, if you haven't seen it:

Construction time is supposedly three years! I guess it will be in stages, and that the building will be fully used all through the process. Architect is hrtb.

hm, very long time, since the façade on the highrise isn't much of a change. Typical though, they seem to do much more with the low-rise section...

The Bryne-effect is still on in Rogaland, a politician in Randaberg dreams of getting a 20 floor building in this small towns centre:

What a great project for Kristiansand. And that's a really good looking highrise.

That's good news for Mo i Rana, but did you read the comments the two people in the article made?

Quote:
Levende sentrum

So they think developing the centre is something that should be done, and the way to do this is by not developing the centre, and instead building new shopping malls outside of it. Right.

Yeah, not a very clever formulation I think he is trying to say that commerce should be located withinn the historical sentrum area instead of moving along E6 or E12.

This is the proposals for Vervet in Tromsø, the largest development project for years in the city. From the idea entries it looks very interesting, its a project which will be interesting to follow the next few years!
