Yeah, the whole ECML modernisation/electrification project was done on the cheap in the 80s. Now the wires are prone to falling down quite a lot.

Cheap capital = expensive upkeep.

Some 75mph freight trains in the UK, some electric, some diesel hauled. These sea container type intermodal trains are becoming increasingly popular.
