Regency Casino Thessaloniki, Greece

If you're looking for Eurotrash, you can find plenty on the Strip in Vegas. But if you're looking for Euro Class, you'll be well served by a trip to the Regency Casino. One of Europe's largest and most luxurious, it's clogged with upscale wagerers, most of whom hang in the exclusive casino-within-a-casino, the Club Regency--which features a private entrance and ultra high-limit tables. But even the main casino is classy by comparison to its stateside cousins. Which means, sporting flip-flops and Bermudas might make you feel a tad underdressed in this elegant hotspot.

As for the games themselves, choose from American-style roulette, blackjack, poker, punto banco (a variant of baccarat) and 900 state-of-the-art slots from low stakes to super high. And when you need a break from breaking the bank, you can stroll the exquisitely manicured gardens, which the casino shares with a fully appointed Hyatt Regency (about three blocks away). Or you could see a show in the 550-seat theater or grab a bite in one of the Regency's restaurants--there's Okipo's outdoor garden café, Jewel's buffet right near the gambling action and fine dining in Alfredo's.

Nestled beneath the picturesque mountains of northern Greece, the Regency is only about five miles from the bustling downtown of this city of a million and also conveniently located adjacent to the airport. But it would be a waste to sky off into the sunset the second you're done gambling. Ancient history and culture abound in this chic, cosmopolitan Macedonian city named after the sister of Alexander the Great.

Fabulous beaches on the Aegean Sea are less than an hour away and historical wonders abound, with Byzantine architecture second only to Constantinople. Thessaloniki was founded in 315 B.C., and there was a city here 2,000 years before that. Talk about old money!

We should also mentions it host many anual poker tournaments.

The UK's largest casino is at Star City in Birmingham.

Star City, Birmingham

Star City is a vast American style complex in the UK, with a great emphasis on entertainment. It is located in Nechells, north east of Birmingham near the M6 motorway. [1]

Star City, Birmingham, England

Star City was opened in the winter of 1996 by actor George Clooney. Built on derelict industrial land, it was created as part of revamping the rundown Nechells area and to change Birmingham's image for the 21st Century. Its centrepiece was the forty-screen Warner Village cinema, at the time the largest cinema in Europe.

Packed with mixed-theme restaurants, bars and boasting around 3,000 parking spaces, this complex is the largest of its kind in the continent.

Early days
Although not an initial runaway success, Star City's popularity has slowly gained momentum and is attracting many people from outside Birmingham. The Warner Village name has been re-branded as Vue and the opening of Star City Casino in November 2003 as the UK's largest casino has enhanced Star City's growing reputation further.

Attractions
Aside from the multiplex and the casino, there are restaurants offering Mexican, Spanish, Chinese and traditional English food. Star City's Megabowl, which has been there since the beginning, is always a lively experience. There are also shopping stores, bars, clubs and a health club within the main plaza. On the outside, seasonal shows such as fireworks displays, circuses and funfairs regularly take place.
