that floorplan is interesting. rooms are quite large.. won't be too cheap

malec that looks dirty.. but i can't remember one day in dubai where i felt smog.. it's only visibility that is so bad due to the dust and sand and haze i'd say.

This tower has definitely reached elite status world wide for height. Right now there are only 4 countries that have taller buildings than the height it stands now. Also, you could throw it into any city in the world, and it would be at least the second tallest building, with the exception of Kuala Lumpur where it would be third after the two Petronas Towers.

by level 99 it's / o o \ on all 3 sides... so no wing core's a-tall - just those circular columns, that's what i meant. Hope you see what I mean with the oo's they're the 2m diameter wingtip columns.
I see what you mean, but in first post you said only 1 is still growing, yet here at level 76 we see 2, the one on th eirght seem to go to tier 8, then the last one continues up to level 99, as you state here, So the tower is not getting so thin so fast, as your earlier post suggested.
Thats all I was trying to say.

I have to say the plans are a bit strange? especially as some of the apartments don't even have kitchens ( no 17 )? and if they do they are hidden behind a sliding door and very very small ? What ever happened to open plan living? or is this not what happens in dubai? Also have you noticed they are using very small furniture? the dining tables are microscopic. Its a developers trick to make apartments look bigger than they are.

Another thing is the curved walls. This will make buying furniture and paintings for these apartments very difficult.

This is the Armani hotel so nobody will be buying paintings and furniture here. The actual apartments will be above this.

So you mean that are 102 floors and not 104 floors as it is on dubaimegaprojects.com.

Actually, its a plan of the residences. There are two standard guest rooms per level and 17 suites. Levels 9-16 are shown.

well that was the idea of the pyramids. when they were completed and for hundreds of years, the white shiny limestone was too shiny to look at due to reflection. really creating a god like status. then as years went by, erosion plus builders using top cover blocks to build cairo and left what remains today, a sort of stepped stone effect.sorry to go off track, but ancient history is incredible.

maybe onev day in hundreds of years BurjD will be looked at like we look at pyramids today.
just think, if the 146m pyramid of cheops was built to 808m high, and with same proportions as ancient pyramids (230m long for cheops) , each side would be 1320m long! approx
now that would be impressive!

hard to imagine what buildings such as this one will be like in 500 years or so..or even what all infrastructre in the world will look like...nothing will ever be forgotten anymore and the past centurry has built so so so so so much stuff...its crazy to think about what it will all be like in the future. freeways, airports, skyscrapers, cities......

Agreed, ancient history is incredible and very interesting. The pyramids are one of the wonders of the world and their level of knowledge is something that makes me think we know a lot less about them than we think we do...
