Maybe this is tall enough to warrant its own separate thread?

They've started pulling down the eastern end of the Box Factory, but I checked the renders and that is intentional to allow space for the tower.

Indeed. A shame for such a internationally prominent project it is going to look absolutely awful.

Yeah, 'looks' good.

These 'look' good.

Unfortunately reality has painted a different picture. These are nothing more than cheap clad yuppie apartments that are losing value fast. This new one if clad in the same as what the other two have ended up being in will loom over the Olympic Park as a dark example of developers putting up anything simply to make money from fools.

puke...Oh my...I'm still deeply interested into the renewal of Stratford as a metropolitan centre, but beauty wise, we're heading dangerously low.

Well nearly all of these projects are by the same architect, and have all turned out awful. Time will tell.

yea and if you look at the building above being built , I can assure you this new taller version will be just as bad, the cladding is cheap and clumsy and why the love affair with blue? its vile.

Why couldn't they pull down the rest of the white-coloured building?

Because it is about the only historical building left in Stratford.
