Why don't you include their number as info? (Like D-400, D-196 etc.)

Depends what you mean as foreign. Any Turkish plate starts with anything but 07 is not from Antalya Province. It's 34 for Istanbul, 06 for Ankara, and 81 for Düzce (been province since 1999, few months before the Nov 11 Earthquake). Dunno when 82nd province will found nor any new province candidates.

European and former Soviet cars are common in Antalya as it's part of Turkish Rivera. Syrian plated cars are also common recently, but a new plate code is regulated which bears the must of '01 Sxx 001' type plates(S stand for Syria.) on Syrian vehicles, temporarily migrated in Turkey.

You must. I'll use E90/D200 Bandırma-Çanakkale road tomorrow to visit my sister and brother in-law, while my mom and brother use D650 to his university registration in Isparta.

Are the non-motorway dual carriageway roads all toll-free?

there is already motorway construction between Bursa - İzmir, so no need for that.

Funny that. Nobody has EVER posted pictures in here of a Motorway under construction between Bursa and Izmir. A very large motorway is under construction north of Bursa and leading to the great Bay Bridge, that I know.

We all know one is PLANNED but that is not the same thing.

And then New Google Earth imagery inconveniently showed nothing under construction at the north end only a few months back

So post pictures or I will continue to believe that Google Earth is entirely correct.

yeah thats true,
thats probably because contractor wants to finish İstanbul-Bursa first for gaining more profit with bridge.

Speaking of Turkish Megaprojects....the tender for the 'missing' bits of the Northern Marmara motorway feeding the 3rd Bosphoros bridge from the far ends opened in October 2014 and is still underway with the closing deadline extended right out to March 2016.

The entire motorway will bypass the Istanbul Megacity area with its overall population of north of 15m people from 8 o clock to 5 o clock ( clockwise)

The western arc ( roughly 100km from 8 o clock to 11 o clock ) will be the largest mortorway project under construction in the whole of Europe _when it gets going_ as it is a 4 x 4 as far as i know. And it will feed the new airport at roughly 10 o clock somehow. They will be quite close. )

The segment from 11 o clock to 3 o clock is under construction along with the 3rd Bosphoros Bridge

The eastern segment will go from 3 o clock to 5 o clock first ....connecting with Izmit Bay Bridge northern approach 9 now under construction) and finishing the semi circle around Istanbul from 8 o clock to 5 o clock.

From that point the Northern Marmara will continue east to around 1/3 of the way to Ankara. I don't know whether the easterly extension will be 4 x 4...it might be 3 x 3 but it is another bloody massive project once it gets going as it is c.200km long end to end.

Tender announced 10/2014

Latest Extension to tender 08/2015

Quote:
The tender for the linking roads of the third bridge, which was originally supposed to be held on March 6, 2015, was postponed to May 6th. However, upon the requests of the companies applying to the tender, it was decided to hold two separate tenders on different days.

Accordingly, a tender for the Kurtköy-Akyazı linking road was originally supposed to be held on June 30. Then, it was postponed to Aug. 31. Finally, the government decided to hold the tender on March 1, 2016, with a newly released addendum. Similarly, the tender for the Kınalı-Odayeri linking road, which was supposed to be held on July 7th but was postponed to Sept. 7, was further delayed to March 8, 2016.
Completion not anticipated before 2019 given the scale of these roads. The Third Bosphoros Bridge and the c. 100km of 4 x 4 motorway feeding directly into it on both sides will open in 2016 some time I would think. Officially it is 2015 but Yeah.

But the Bulgarian border to Bursa will be a truly great drive by 2019, I hope, being a bit over 300km and two of the worlds greatest bridges thrown in.

Google Street View is now available in most Turkish cities and main roads.

I'm thrilled to discover that Turkey got street view!
I was looking forward to that!
And Turkish roads (expressways and motorways) are really awesome, among the best in the world without any doubt!!! Congrats Turkey!
Looking forward to seeing this motorway network being expanded to the whole of the country!!

So, who'll post highway pics via Google's street view or compare with Yandex's Panorama?

Izmit Bay Bridge is going to be opened in March 2016

Izmit Bay Bridge is going to be opened in March 2016!

According to the news on Milliyet, the bridge is going to be opened for vehicles in March 2016.

However on many websites, some guys from the Project say it's not possible to complete all construction Works before July 2016 as per their work schedules, so this means there will be another delay on Project.
