no. it is only "beta" design. final design will be shown after 6 months of designing.

Use the Black Sea !! There are speed ferries between Trabzon and Sochi.Travelling time is 4,5 hours.

Total completion for Olympics - low chances. The works will begin in 1st quartal 2010. 1st phase - development of an area of 80.2 hectares - 2010 - 2013. In Sochi are waiting too much to start to realize the stadium. Feb. 2014 is not so far.

Preparation works are finished. 2010 March the full construction will start. It is because designing process will be finished it February.

Construction: January 2010 - March 2013.
Capacity:
- 40,000 for Winter Games
- 45,000 for Big Football Events (World Cup 2018)
- 25,000 for ordinary using.

Is there going to be some reconfiguration post 2014; those stands seem a huge distance from the pitch?

Small Ice Hockey Arena, Curling Arena and Short track Arena may be moved to some cities in South District.

Central stadium and big ice hockey arena will be in Sochi after 2014

He means reconfiguration to make seats closer.
Maybe. For WC capacity will be 45,000. For OG - 40,000. These 5,000 can be added to first level.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great looking stadium, and a breif which includes Olympic ceremonies and football maybe isn't easy. But I'm just curious to know what the plans are for it for (potentially) 2018?

They don't seem to be a huge distance. Probably even closer than Stade de France in football mode and definitely closer than the London Olympic Stadium
