TCC Group plans four new hotels in Kingdom next year

TCC Hotel Group, a subsidiary controlled by tycoon Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, plans to open four hotels in Thailand next year to expand its client base.

"TCC Hotel Group Co aims to serve all market segments, from domestic to international and from budget to luxury level," said Georges Baurin, senior vice president for asset management for domestic hotels and international brands.

The group plans to open three hotels in Bangkok and one on Koh Samui in Surat Thani province.

It will start with the Okura Prestige Hotel in Bangkok in March 2012, which will be managed by Japanese hotel chain Okura Group.

The group later will open Hilton Bangkok on Sukhumvit Soi 24. The hotel will feature 280 rooms and will target luxury markets, both business and leisure travellers.

Another hotel is Double Three by Hilton, representing a new brand of fourstar hotels in Thailand, on Sukhumvit Soi 26. Leisure travellers are the main targets for the hotel.

The last property will be Sheraton Samui, consisting of 88 pool villa units, to open its doors late next year. Its main market is international tourists.

Baurin said Charoen owned 40 hotels with a total of more than 9,000 rooms in Thailand and overseas, in Japan, Singapore, Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia and the United States.

Twenty of the hotels are in Thailand and the rest outside, and most of the hotels are managed by international chains.

TCC Hotels Group, Hotel Okura and Univentures yesterday announced they had joined forces on the Bt3billion Okura Prestige Hotel.

The 242room hotel is designed to appeal to both leisure and business travellers from Japan, the AsiaPacific region and other influential source markets.

The Okura Prestige, at the corner of Wireless and Ploenchit roads, is expected to create 400 new jobs. The average room rate is Bt5,700 per night.

Toshihiro Ogita, president of Hotel Okura Co, said the expansion into Thailand was due to the growing numbers of visitors to the Kingdom from Japan for both business and leisure.

The company expects 60percent occupancy in the first full year of operations, Ogita said.

Hilton Worldwide signs two management agreements with TCC Land Group

BANGKOK – Hilton Worldwide today announced the signing of two management agreements with TCC Hotel Group a subsidiary of TCC Land Group for a new build Hilton Hotels & Resorts hotel and a conversion project to be rebranded as a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel. Both properties are due for completion in 2012. TCC Land Group is a leading real estate company in Thailand with diverse sectors including residential, office buildings, retail, and hospitality.

The two hotels will be located in Sukhumvit area, Bangkok’s main lifestyle, entertainment and residential area. The hotels will be a short walk from the Phrom Phong sky train station and adjacent to the popular Emporium Shopping Complex.

Including these two new hotels in Bangkok, Hilton Worldwide portfolio in Thailand now features five hotels currently open to the world’s travellers and three additional hotels to open in the country during the next two years.

Andrew Clough, senior VP of Development – Middle East & Asia Pacific, Hilton Worldwide, said, “TCC Land Group is a very substantial hotel owner, operator and real estate investor both in Thailand and abroad. These agreements are the first collaboration with TCC and we are delighted to have secured this mandate from such a prominent group. This collaboration will also enable us to bring to bear the strength of Hilton Worldwide brands, and capture a broader market segment through the introduction of the DoubleTree by Hilton brand, which will bring a relaxed, lively and refreshing option to the current hospitality offerings in Bangkok.”

Construction is already underway on the new-build, 24-storey Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok, which will offer 287 guest rooms including 35 suites while DoubleTree by Hilton, Sukhumvit Bangkok will reopen in 2012. The 24-storey property will feature 182 modern guest rooms including 12 suites.

นายปณต สิริวัฒนภักดี รองประธานกรรมการอาวุโส ทีซีซี แลนด์ กรุ๊ป กล่าวว่า ทีซีซี โฮเต็ล กรุ๊ป ได้ลงนามร่วมกับฮิลตัน เวิลด์ไวด์ (Hilton Worldwide) ในวันที่ 15 ก.พ.นี้ โดยฮิลตัน เวิลด์ไวด์ จะเข้าทารับหน้าที่บริหาร 2 โครงการของทีซีซี โฮเต็ล กรุ๊ป ได้แก่ ฮิลตัน โฮเต็ล แอนด์ รีสอร์ท (Hilton Hotels & Resorts) ซึ่งเป็นโครงการที่สร้างขึ้นใหม่ และ อีกโครงการเป็นปรับภาพลักษณ์โครงการเดิม ใช้ชื่อใหม่ว่า โรงแรม ดับเบิ้ลทรี บาย ฮิลตัน (DoubleTree by Hilton) ทั้งสองโครงการ จะพร้อมเปิดให้บริการในปี 2555

ไม่มีกลุ่มไหนจะทําโรงแรม 6 ดาว แล้วเอาแบรนด์นี้มาเปิดบ้างเลยหรอ อย่างแถวสุขุมวิท เพลินจิต วิทยุ ก็น่าจะได้อยู่

ประเทศเพื่อนบ้านเราอย่างสิงคโปร์ มาเลเซียก็มีโรงแรมแบรนด์นี้กันหมดแล้ว มีแต่บ้านเราที่ยังไม่มีในแบบ city

แต่บ้านเราก็มี Ritz-Carlton แล้ว 2 ที่ เป็นโรงแรมแบบ Resort คือ Ritz-Carlton Phulay Krabi และก็คอนโดที่ตึกมหานครอีกที่หนึ่ง
