I have a little problem with Dubai's SkL, it looks like a faked SkL (like a western background), it needs to be deeper.
But anyway I rate it 9/10 buildings are sooo sexy !

9/10 for overall quality of buildings however the actual skyline appears to lack the depth and inspiration of NY or HK.

true, Ive seen a lot of scrapers in Dubai are exactly the same, all they do is put a different top on it, like princess tower, the torch, and 'elite residence'.
but a 9 for height

While I partially agree, the skyline to me is still a 10/10. As much as I think what's going on there is all show doesn't change the fact that it DOES LOOK GOOD.

10/10

Excellent city that nay evolve into a metropolis in the future with all these projects that are under construction or proposed.

Right now its a 9/10. The skyline is still growing (a lot, maybe a bit too much. Seeing so many uncompleted buildings hinders the view a bit) so once the rate of construction starts to decrease and we see more of a completed 'product' I think I can say it's a 10/10

Unfavourable aesthetic judgements are not of necessity based on emotional jealousy. Sometimes as with mine they are based on refined sensibility.

Paris is my city. Why on Earth would I be jealous of any other city? It would be like being a billionaire and being jealous of a millionaires wealth. I am perfectly capable of praising other cities when appropriate. Chicago has the most photogenic skyline on earth. HK is the most Wow city on Earth. Paris of course is the most beautiful

Dubai is not a city in their league. It is an ego trip with no raison d'etre..

7/10 for now.

The burj dubai skyline lacks density while the marina is a bit dull now and except for al fattan towers lacks towers which stand out

now 6.5/10, after 5 years 8/10. Many of those buildings look dull.

Definitely 10/10, Dubaiīs skyline is growing so rapidly and the architecture is amazing!

I cannot understand why some people say it is dull or just give 6/10 points!

Dubai
Singapore
many Chinese cities (including Hong Kong)

Will have the best skylines in the world, almost everything is stylish and top-notch there as opposed to many US cities that look so out-dated with boxy skyscrapers, 60īs and 70īs style!

Go Dubai. I am a great fan of you!

Wow I agree with you 100%. U.S. is definitely lagging behind in terms of building construction, except Honolulu which looks like is the only city that is constantly expanding. One city though you may want to add on your list is Mumbai, India. Besides Dubai, it has the 2nd most project filled city and sure to be a huge boom in 5-10 years.

Well, why would you give it 10 points when there is still much improvement to be made? IMO no skyline deserves a 10, there can never be a perfect skyline since it can always be improved. For me, NYC is the closest to a 10 because it has a charm that no other skyline has anywhere in the world, theres just so much stuff that no matter what angle you look at it or which area you focus on, there's always something interesting to catch the eye. I gave NYC, Chicago and HK 10 out of 10 but now thinking about it I would have liked to give them 9.5, NYC 9.7 if possible.
I'd give this one a 7 because right now it is a good skyline, not a great one, a good one. It will go up to 7.5 or 8 once more supertalls, are up and places that were once gigantic construction sites start to liven up. Eventually it'll go up to 8.5 when the burj dubai skyline seriously starts to get dense (think 10 years down the line). A 9 is eventually possible but this definitely means a great skyline and for this to happen it needs to look great from all angles, it should be living and breathing (ie, at night plenty of lights should be on, plenty of activity and people around, etc), and so on.
An 9.5 is for a truly unique and excellent skyline, come back in 30 years when the world has gone through a few architecture styles and we'll talk. Although depending on what other cities build this could be unique for height, the frequency of supertalls at 1000ft, 1500ft, etc.

Great way of putting it. Dubai deserves a 7.5/10 because it has those buildings that really stand out, and look amazing, but Dubai really needs to densen up its skyline too. I think once the Burj Dubai is done, they really need to fill in the gaps around the skyline. Thats just my opinion.
