it has height and quality but it really lacks density. many of the same people giving it a 10 give Atlanta, for example, a lower ranking and complain, "it's not dense enough, blahblahblah."

that said i give Dubai a healthy 9.

Many skyscrapers, but... for me... the city is not nice at all

for the city, skyline, climate, citylife, and all: 1

so 5.5

I dislike the city

But skyline-wise, it deserves no less than 9.5

Also, PeterGabriel...are you saying Dubai has no nightlife? Wow...delusional...

And you give the skyline a 1? What bullshit!

since this is a poll on the skyline alone... I don't know enough about the city or the region to impose social or political commentary; however, I know the skyline is nice...and getting even better. probably a solid 10 in the near future...right now a good 9.5 for me.

Then I fell asleep in her arms.
That was happiness then.

I also dislike the city.
But I admit it has some brand new stylish skyscrapers. Therefore, I'll give 8 to the skyline because it has some of the greatest buildings in the world, but somehow it doesn't work at a whole (maybe because it's not ready yet).

I think the Dubai skyline is fantastic, and couldnt really care less if it hogs the top buildings list

However I just find that it is too much of a tourists city, and isnt down to earth, while the older parts of Dubai are nice, many are badly kept...

Yeah yeah, this skyline is indeed a 1. This heightened frenzy on heights just won't convince me. No cohesion. Looks like the city is brutally rushed to complete an 'expensive' housing project. Perhaps when these people will sit down and take a long pause and surprise us with their next move, Dubai can create a drama and grab more points. Remember how much people despised the Mc Mansions- big houses that mushroomed all over America that are devoid of class and taste? Well, these McTowers aren't any different.

Exactly. Kitsch. Devoid of purpose and real point. Garish. Crass. Exhibionist. Parvenu and Tasteless. Obscene waste of petrodollar fortunes by beggars on horseback.

righty mate! building world's tallest, biggest, priciest, etc. while completely turn a deaf ear on their cousins suffering in Palestine. A normal for a sandpit, they have no natural wonders, so they build man-made wonders. Money can't buy you intelligence, indeed.
