It's not so much bitterness imo. I share that opinion. Dubai is far from a 1, but the skyline and newly built parts of the city just feels so... manufactured.

I gave it a 9, though, if I'm ranking the skyline. If I'm ranking the city, though, it would probably be a 5 or 6

Because it's entirely artificial? It just looks...fake. They'd rather build an 80 story building than some houses two miles away from the water? It doesn't have the population to sustain these buildings. The money doesn't come from private investors, naturally, but from the government, which makes it seem like propaganda.

Not a 1 for me, but certainly not good.

the city is amazing.. and yes skyline-wise.. I don't like it as well.... maybe let's wait for about a decade or two and maybe I'll change my mind... rated it 9 anyways...

You guys, this is about ranking the SKYLINE, not about all that other stuff.

I already voted a 9.5 earlier, the Burj and others may make me bump it up to a 10.

What the hell are in all of these buildings? It seems as though they just build buildings for the hell of it.

A the end of 2006 Duabai had a population of 1.42 million, so the skyline is not thatout of line for the size; however, I would like to know about vacancy rates in the buildings that are not under construction still. I give it a 9 out of 10 because it is one of the most futuristic and amibitous skylines out there now.

Dubai is building a sandcastle, till a gust of wind blows it away...

9/10 because Dubai has agood number of spetacular highrises. However, I miss a coherent cityscape which will possibly evolve over the next decade.
