My opinion

I think Dubai is a very nice looking city with some really well designed scrapers. I would say its one of the most modern, quality/stylish skylines around these days. So I give it a good 9/10

The only problem I have with Dubai is location :-). Looks too hot, dusty and barren type of country, there's not much GREEN and it also looks so flat. I know you guys are in the desert - but with all that money maybe you could build a few land features (hills) and add some lush vegetation etc :-).

^ Actually there are a lot of parks in Dubai and more are being build. There is a lot of landscaping going on. Actually if you visit, you'll be surprised how much greenery is around for a desert city. I was myself, when I first came here.

The Municipality target is 8% of Dubai aerea to be green.

yes, dubai is very green and with all the new projects there will be much more
we even have golf courses within the city

i can tell you there is no lack in green areas in dubai!

it's of great advantage to build all these projcts with a masterplan. the whole are to be developed can be carefully planned

I just don't understand why all the negativity about Dubai. Pictures are worth thousand words. Why can't ppl just accept the fact that transforming miles of desert into a vibrant city it's in and on itself a great achievment. Rated 9 only bcs its a continually developing project - otherwise no doubt 10.

with the exception of the burj dubai and the tallest emirates tower, i think the architecture is very kitschy and tacky. too linear for me and it seems as if theres no life humming around these scrapers like there is in the HK, NY, Chicago, and even London ones.

Has some nice buildings, but at the moment, for the skyline as a whole, it's nothing special. Give it a few years i suppose.

in terms of skyline 9.5/10, in terms of beauty, not in my type....too much gold and reflex, it's a city without a soul , made for cars not people ....you can hardly see people on these pics, ofcourse there are plenty of unusual buildings and plenty of them is rising however i prefer european cities

Dubai has an interesting skyline in that all the buildings are mainly separated from each other; but the whole desert feeling makes it even more interesting! The buildings are pretty colourful, and futuristic (especially that hotel building next to the sea), and its one of the best, if not the best skyline in the Middle East. However, I wouldn't go so far as to calling it the best skyline in the world; give it a few more years and I expect it to be bigger and possibly better.

8/10

7.5/10

I don't like it because it's too "futuristic" looking.
