This is the biggest thing in skyscrapers since the Empire State Building, I'm not talking height, I'm just talk wow factor and leap over it's rivals. It really is the Empire State for the present generation.

Sensational, I don't even rate SWFC or those others in the same league, the Burj is almost twice as high!

i agree locke. the worlds tallest has only been going up slightly over past few years and now we have a skyscraper that will be 300m clear of its nearest rival!
As with the Empire state, Burj Dubai will also be tallest free standing object and worlds tallest structure by whopping 200m!!!
it really is in a league of its own.

That really is looking tall now. When it was at 300m, it didn't LOOK tall at all, but now it IS tall and it also LOOKS tall!

It has also now eclipsed Sears Tower as the building with the most floors. (Sears has 108)

Yep, it's even more remarkable when you consider it's the tallest structure/object ever built in human history. There ain't no towers that are taller, there ain't no radio masts that taller... This is it! A record breaker that represents the pinnacle of man's attempts to reach for the skies. It is exactly why it is in a league of it's own, it's not just a supertall, it is THE superstar tall.

You aren't just watching another supertall go up, this is literally history rising.

Oh well I should go join Emaar's marketing department:P

I hate to harp on but just how long will it take to glaze what will be about 130 floors when they start? Daunting task!

Imagine being the glazers and looking up at that monster with your panes. I think you'd cry....

i think when burjD gets higher, it will be more and more in the news and become a major news item. eveyone will know it soon as it becomes tallest structure.look what Petronas towers did for KL.
i think burj dubai will be easily to pronunce? every kid knows Eiffel tower or empire state. "bug duba" will be next building to remember.

Most people i have met on the GoldCoast think that Q1 is the tallest building in the world. too bad the USA have a taller one (Empire State) AND that was built in like 1930 lol... morons!!

yes, theres a difference with worlds tallest resi and worlds tallest overall skyscraper. Q1 and Eureka derserve there accolades for now as tallest resi.
but Dubai has skyscrapers in another league.
Burj Dubai makes all other skyscrapers/structures look misiscule.
