It didn't take much to understand when the word 'flickr' was involved. We don't have many pics of the A7 here. Do you have more?

Since we're already OT, I have a quick question:

I noticed different Arabic spellings of names such as Agadir.

On google maps the g in Agadir is spelled as ghain, the same as on the English wikipedia page, while on the French wiki page it's spelled the same way as on road signs in .ma On the German page it's written with a kaf.
The Arabic wiki page has both spellings, one with ghain and one with gaf. (unfortunately I don't really understand Arabic, but I can read the alphabet well enough to decipher most road signs)

What's the reason for these variations and is there a system where and when one or the other is used?
In Morocco, the spelling with gaf was the most frequent, so I assume that's the "correct" spelling? Has it mainly to do with keyboards and the letter gaf not being available on other keyboards?

Sorry, back on topic.... Great picture of the A7.

As far as I know I always have seen Agadir spelled: a - ga (like the first sound in "gas") - dir. But I agree with you that the sound "ga" even if it's frequently used in egyptian arabic doesn't exist in arabic alphabet. Usually we use use the letter "kaf" with 3 dots above it. That's the way write the name in Morocco. The different transcriptions you speak about are probably due to the fact that the Agadir english wiki page has been written by middle-eastern arab speakers. Concerning the spelling of the word in latin alphabet, I haven't noticed any other versions than the moroccan standard one.

Agadir is not an Arabic name but a Berber name so in fact the name is transliterated on road signs into Arabic. To spell it with a ghayn غـ would thus be incorrect as it's not the closest to the way it's pronounced. As G isn't a letter in the Arabic alphabet, the closest letter should be kaf ﻛ with is given three dots in Morocco to show that it should be pronounced as a G: ڭ

I think we're on topic, Agadir is signposted on Moroccan motorways you know

Really? Me too. Or better said, I used to, but I've forgotten pretty much everything.

They are in the middle of expanding the highway between Rabat and Casablanca (length of 54 km) from 2x2 to 2x3.
