Glad this one got through eventually. The ground area seems quite small. Then again, that is the idea of a skyscraper - to build upwardly rather than take up too much ground space. I don't like heights and would probably Wallace and Gromit if I was at the top of Beetham 2. Just glad the city's development is going well. Nice snapping once again Doug.

I wonder what the price range of appartments will be. The two extreems are:

1) View of a typists cleavage in the Unison building for 10p
2) Un-obstructed views of the universe for 90 billion quid.

Perhaps when the piling is started we will have a long discussion on this thread about England's chance of qualifying for the World Cup.

yeah...weve only lost 2 competitive matches.

Against Brazil and Portugal...the winner and runner up in the competitions.

So you don't reckon he's done a Keegan and taken them as far as he can? Fowler's made a lot of sense recently, what with the bits in his forthcoming autobiography. The man doesn't know how to play. He has no plan B. His plan A revolves around Beckham and Gerrard. And that's it. Honestly, look at the Brazil, France and Portugal games. Leading in all of them, oop, let's sit back for THE ENTIRE FUCKING MATCH and defend our goal!

The man's done brilliantly in stabilising the England setup. But he can't win us anything unless it was a fluke. Club level, his reputation was pretty much made on Lazio. And....well, we know what happened there.

Tonight was perfect evidence at how inept the man is. Afterwards he was supposedly incredibly angry with the entire squad for letting him, themselves and England down. Yet the man doesn't seem to be able to comprehend that at 3-0 down, where he should be hoping to see just how good we are by clawing back the deficit, he goes and takes Lampard off and brings Hargreaves on.

Let me just run that by you again. He takes Lampard off and brings Hargreaves on.

Just sit there and ponder that for a while.

Legal drinking age now Cragie?

Wooly said he'll be up towards the end of the month, so probably a Saturday around then. I'll take it to the Meet-up thread.

Yep, the national team are balls. I wish Englands sport teams could be more ordinary, be it cricket, rugby or footy. I hate the press reaction:

"We're the best in the world" when we're winning

or

"The country's sport scene is in crisis" when we're losing.

Saying that though, Erikkson is clueless - but what does he care when he's on a massive contract? He can't lose!

And I don't care too much either, Liverpool come first, then Spain. Spain tower over England in terms of footy
