acutally, they look more like row-houses....
I disagree. I live in the building directly next door to Trump Tower construction. (disclaimer: I may be bias because I love skyscrapers and their construction) But the construction has not been a huge hassle for our building, and the noise just blends in with the rest of the city noise. The way I look at it, its worth a few years of minor hassle to have something of beauty for a lifetime.

And those are townhouses, and I believe they sell for between 1-3 million. After the Spire is done, I bet they could get twice that. Personally, I think it would be pretty damn cool to have the tallest and argueably most interesting building in the country right next door to my 3 level town home. I wish I could afford one.

It is likely cheaper to grind them up on site than it is to pay for them to be shipped away.

I want a job like that guy where all I do is stand with my arms crossed and watch others work . This is SOOOO exciting. Chicago you rock. I have got to get over there when this baby starts going up and check it out. Any hotels with a birds eye view of this site?

Maybe someone local can make a deal with them for a web camera with a 'shot per day' mode.

At least Case told their guy who's in charge of standing-and-watching-with-his-arms-folded to put his hard hat on. (See BVictor1's July 3 pictures.)

IMHO - Better view from the John Hancock Center (in terms of general view).

I would recommend going up to the Signature Lounge on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Center and getting an expensive beverage instead of paying the pricey observation fee. You'll get the same views, and a drink.
