i beleive theres a friction system that can be used in areas without bedrock. obviously not for a building of this size though.

I'm not sure if i fully understand your question, but the Spire is supposed to be the deepest high-rise constructed, with 7 floors of underground parking, the basement will go down over 70 feet.

Welcome

I think I have seen at least 4-5 new Chicago members in the last couple of days.

Good to see all of the people coming out of the woodworks. [For the Spire only?]

I hope this is not just a bandwagon thing and real interest.

2016 got a lot to do with this building and its completion. If Chicago wants the olympics the Spire is a must. Dailey and everybody that's had anything to do and say in CHITOWN knows this too. Kellerher must have proven something, to somebody pretty early in this deal/process.

The Spire is going up as we speak, sales offices opening and folks talking, looking with amazement. Folks relax it is Kellerher money and he is spending it wisely, in my opinion. Have a and little and LOL.

I still can't believe this thing will actually get built. When I first saw the proposals, I just dismissed it as another overambitious plan which will never get anywhere. I was thinking "I could see a huge and crazy skyscraper like this being built in Dubai, but... in Chicago? No way."

"Huge And Crazy"

Well, Chicago has the tendency to challenge conventional thinking, I believe we can all agree on that. And "huge and crazy" isn't necessarily a bad thing. Anyway, Go Spire!

Misinterpretation

Now that I reread your post, no one. I misunderstood your point. As my signature says...
