This will use "top down" construction for most if not all of the project, it won't look like much while much is done.
The parking garage will be 7 stories ( 70' - 20m ) deep, and built similar to this example ( German ? ) http://www.calice.igt.ethz.ch/Challe...deshow_n_d.htm
Using a secant wall - like http://www.calice.igt.ethz.ch/Challe...nge/secant.htm

The orange boxes on the re-bar cages Might be where the floors will attach.

Approximate location of 5 cassion foundations based on harryc's great set of images

Hi all. What better place for a first post than this thread and the view is so good!

Thanks to everyone who has posted on this astounding new building, it's a pleasure to learn so much.

#1 may be the access shaft for filling in the old freight tunnels. - it was in place before the giant (12') caisson rigs arrived and has not been finished off.

From Aug 2nd - Mr smiley arrives.

Everyone seems very quick to denegrate Chicago when it comes to the amount of wealth this city has, and its level or desireability. Why is Chicago being considered in a different league than NY and London? I realize that both are still bigger, but Chicago isn't exactly lagging behind. Prices are not THAT different in these cities, and the differences become basically negligable when dealing with units as high end as this.
Is this a Joke?

yeah, i highly doubt it. Although the midtown towers could surprise us.
This event is a 1 in a 1,000,000 though.

Believe what you wish about those exorbitant prices of $20-30 million plus for CS penthouses...I'm giving you a well thought out estimate that the price at the top will stay in the high 7 figures...feel free to agree/disagree but try to limit your immaturity about it

Good guess...I guess. You seriously think that the best units in the spire will go for less than the best in Trump? Allright..... (immature, or just plain logical?)
