nah its going at a decent pace. the caissons always seem to drag cuz all we see are machines digging. these casissons might be some of the deepest and largest in the world (i'm assuming) once they are done, things will pick up quickly.

is that true? because if so, isnt there going to be a major impact on traffic in the area? there will thousands more people all in one area.

and in the pic from 9/14, it seems like the land CS is being built on doesnt look sturdy enough. it looks almost like a dock in how it seems to just be floating. is that an island or an extension of the mainland?

no that is the end product of a garbage dump in the lake. Google Streeterville Chicago.

No one will actually live in the building.

There may be 1200 condo units but there will only be about 5-10 units occupied at any one time in the winter and up to hundreds in the summer.

For most overseas buyers this is their 3rd or 4th residence.

Expect to see people not living there getting the keys to the place on a holiday from someone they are connected with.

Also all of these overseas owners will not fly their cars with them, that are what limousines are for.

It is being built on LimeStone - Dolimite (?) There is 70' of clay, and 40' of hardpan between the surface and the bedrock, but the spire will rest on the bedrock, just as all the > 40 story buildings in Chicago must.

Additional ramps from Lower LSD are planned, they were supposed to be in before the building started.
