And well... the smartcar is one of the lowest ranks in the prestige-car list

The Fortwo will show up here in the begining of 2008. It's ment to be used in downtowns. For such a small car, it's pretty expensive ($12,000-$14,000) while the larger (but still small) Kia Rio is $9,000 to &11,000.

That would be one awesome incentive for all the residences in the Spire should get a free Smart Fortwo. It would sell out instantly. Lol.

From PDFs sent to me by DHamp of SSP "Just tell them that I (legally) got a hold of a marketing packet and scanned them."

What's so far been the most expensive penthouse in Chicago? How does this 40 Million one compare?

Remember, these units will be mostly marketed to non-americans. Here in the U.S. we love room, and being able to have that traditional setup, but this is the next age of "contemporary living" as the new video says. These are going to be mostly inhabited by extremely wealthy people who want to say they live there, and want to have a place in the most unique living structure in the U.S. We're not as mindful of wasting space in this country, but others in europe and asia are- go travel to these places if you want a real-life perspective of it. Kelleher and Calatrava could care less about us thinking it's strange to live like that. The name "Chicago Spire", the name 'Calatrava" and the image of this unique building are what matters the most as selling points to these foreign investors. The islands in dubai are very impractical, but they'll be the place to be for the world's wealthy.

I have to disagree, America is one of the richest states in the World, they would be dumb not to market it in the United States..(um its in the United States, building the thing in itself is enough to market it to Americans..its not like people wouldnt' notice it? Duh...)Bill Gates alone could buy the whole damn tower...and he could buy 15 more with his 59 billion dollars....sorry i just had to disagree and i also think Americans are becoming more and more modern.. I sure in the hell dont want no white picket fence..um no... To be honest any building with this grace and height its all about the view.. you are paying for that view..and the experience that comes with that view because not a lot of people will witness it....I am not saying people of different nations wouldn't buy into this tower.. i am just saying the Americans will get there fair shot..

How long a shadow will this building cast on the winter solstice?

What an impressive building! You're lucky to live in a city that thinks big.

$40 million is the upper range of any real estate in the Chicago area, including lakeside mansions in Lake Forrest. I think the current highest condo sold was in the 8-10 million dollar range on E. Lake Shore Drive. I've heard the Trump top floor was in the $20 million range? (I'm not really sure)

^-- $28M was the number I heard for the Trump PH. But, as of yet, it remains unsold.
