No, i think, it´s an anti flood pill, quarter of round is a base shape for whole round. Those pills will be bellow ground and it´s shape for future core.

Infinity tower is total shame for Dubai

can you imagine how ugle hong kong would be with a decked roadway along the water's edge in Central?
Except for the fact that no one in Chicago wants to see their signature and unique vaulted roads burried.

"Except for the fact that no one in Chicago wants to see their signature and unique vaulted roads buried."

"unique"?.. I would say "functional"... as an elevated roadway, it worked well to get traffic north/south thru the industrial/port area w/o affecting comings/goings of the area.. but now the port is gone.. industry is gone.. the roadway is now an ugly relic up against the shining new skyline.

North LSD is only decked for a short period of its total distance. The rest is at grade.

It's rather an eyesore though, especially viewed from the west side. So is the triple-decked Wacker -- I exited LSE to Lower Wackest instead of Randolph the other day, and boy was it a contrast.

So they now finish that circle and then start digging out whats inside of it?
That cant be the exteriour circumference of the tower right? Looks too small. So core circumference? mhh

The circular steel pill that you see in the last page is the circumference of the core of the Chicago Spire. I passed by it earlier today and it seems that they are about half done with pounding the pills in. They still need to finish up the “bathtub” and the remaining half of the core pilling before they even begin to excavate and work on the parking garage. If I’m not mistaken please correct me if I’m wrong but I believe there is also some caisson work that needs to be done as well. Though winter is on it’s way this should not impede in the construction. Maybe in the first quarter of 08' they may start the excavation?
