Actually very common, it can be quite impressive as it rolls in from the lake and envelops the skyline block by block. A cloud layer over the lake, 1km out, is very common, the sun rises below the clouds first, then goes away for 15min or so. Makes a nice commute on the lake front in the early morning.

On that picture it doesn't look that the Spire becomes taller than the Sears Towers (great impression though...)

It's an optical illusion - your looking down from a very high altitude. so the foreground seems lower than the background.

example - take your two index fingers, put then like 5 inches apart, and make one taller than the other - put that one in front of the "shorter" one. now lower them and tilt your head down so your looking down on them.....the taller one seems shorter.



either way....its an amazing picture!!

Coming back from McCormick I had to stop by

Vibrator - only sounds loud if you haven't heard a pile driver.



Working on a new Pnumatic shaft.

Choosing which one to keep ( they kept the clean one ).

No sure what they are up to here.


If there is no back yard could they be ....
