Thank you - I think it needs to be bigger - so the heavy core ring touches the pounded coffer-dam - but then again I can't do this trick.

Could you lay a grid on the overhead view in this manner ? After laboriously measuring and counting the fence posts with my crew they were removed the next week.

Nov 09 - Dave H

From Dave H on SSC ( his descriptions )

1. Inside the core sheeting: driving the sheets as far as they will go with that particular hammer. A larger one will be used if necessary to finish the job.

image hosted on flickr

2. Caisson rig on the red Manitowoc is working on one of the pair of 10' diameter rock caissons under the northernmost perimeter column. The neighbors on the other side of the fence will have a great view of the activity on site for several months.

image hosted on flickr

3. The existing river wall at the south end of the site will be detached from the existing deadman piles, which are inside the future basement, and reattached to the new slurry wall. The yellow-painted rods are the tiebacks, and the orange paint on the ground is the location of the slurry wall.

4. The Liebherr machine will be used to install the slurry wall at the south end of the site.

5. The actual cranes are controlled from this room, where the technology of voodoo dolls has been applied to models. When a machine needs to be moved around the site, the model is simply moved to the desired location on the drawing, and the full size machine suddenly appears there. (Just kidding, of course.)

Excellent pics guys! I am loving this build already. The superimposed pic is stellar! That tower is going to be very skinny...can't wait to watch it head skyward.

And you shouldn't quote his entire post in the post below.

But the vibrator joke is indeed getting old.

I'm with Dwalden.
Who cares if he's an a**, it's true and annoying.
It should be considered spam now.

Grow up? Go ahead and look through all 145 pages of this thread and see how many people have said that shit. We are all tired of it.

I agree, *****, Vibrator or some sort phallic joke is almost on every page of this thread. We get it, it wasn't very funny or original the first time it was said. After a thousand times, I don't care if it sounds like we're being a**holes.

Here is the grid where each square is 20'x20' (Be careful, few horizontal lines have disappeared at the bottom). I've take the plan from this post:
http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpo...&postcount=564
(Thanks to BVictor1). So, if this plan is accurate, the core diameter is about 90' and the coffer dam ~120'.

No I work in a cloth covered box - the Spire site has a large raised roadway next to it, I use a bicycle and am very careful to stay outside the perimeter . 6x zoom and cropping can be deceiving ( Panasonic DMC-L27 ). I am lucky to work in the middle of all this with 9+ major sites within 3 blocks, and the spire less than a mile away, when the W=A is built it will be on the way to the Spire site, with a raised roadway on one side
