Good to see that it's already going down, they don't seem to be wasting any time!

Beach Bum great job on the time lapse and of course great pictures harryc! I'm glad to see that work on excavating the core has already begun. Though a little sooner than I expected but who's complaining? I'm just so thrilled to be seeing so much progress going on this month!

FTL Beach Bum, thanks! Two points, it's tricky getting the frame rate right, but that seems a bit too fast and please be careful of the size, it's already 5 MB, maybe a link?

FTL Beach Bum: Great time-lapse, but can you slow it down a little next time? I can't even figure out when the loop starts and ends. (It'll be more obvious once the building starts rising.)

I like the effect that animation has on the motorway.

Good to see excavation has begun.

The bridge isn't a done deal, just the park itself. The bridge is a possibility.

Nov 28 - AM

View from above [ full set - zoomable http://picasaweb.google.com/harry.r..../400NLSDCSHeli ]

Practicing the three R's: Reduce, Re-Use, Recycle
Old footing re-used as workbench

Fancy stand bases

The circle goes

Evertime I think I know what is going on they throw another curve - will these go in before the excavation ? after just a little excavation ?

Nov 28 - Ramps

From S bound LSD

The spikes have been repalced with bolts ( spikes were used to align the pieces while assembleing ).

Spans end.

From N bound LSD

( looking S across the slip )

Were there Germans running the German equipment ?

No sure what to make of this - an intentional coating ? or runoff that hardened ?

At least they're on the ground. I can't imagine how brutal it will be in a couple years...500m up and sub-zero wind chills in the winter. Those guys are troopers.

When I was living out there, (94, to 99,) the shop I worked for, (plumbing/pipefitting) would close in January, and we would come back to work, mid Feb. or sometimes sooner for deadline projects, the coldest weather that i worked in (outside) was about 15 degree's (F) About 2 to 5 below 0, with the wind chill, but with proper clothing it's tolerable.
