January Const. photos

Hey Guys, I was doing some web surfing and I found the Contractors website. In the site were these photos. Although they are from the beginning of the month, They are still pretty cool. Gives you an idea of just how deep this really will be. Even though they are working on the fifth ring. Enjoy

First time for me to visit the thread.... I won't say anything more about the Project. The fact that this thread already reached over 180 pages shows how extremely popular and deserving of the praises the Project continues to get from the forumers here.

I'd rather add my commendation to HARRY C on the way he painstakingly provide this thread with his detailed updates. Makes me feel sorry I didn't think of doing the same thing on our ONE CORPORATE CENTRE Project here in the PHILIPPINES, hehehehe (It's an office building less than 1/3 the height of the Spire, that we've recently topped off).... On another future venture perhaps...

to you Harry! Mabuhay ka (that's Long Live, in Pilipino). I'm sure many technical people out here, specially the younger generations, can learn from the details you've been consistently posting here, including me! I won't be surprised if Discovery Channel would get your services and make use of your files here in coming up with a feature on the Project later.

Wish you good health always, for much more updates!

So the apartments have been on sale now for a week and some days.

Now lets everybody get an apartment so we can all freeze to death! Pretty icicles though

Hey guys i know this might sound stupid but is it really safe for them to build it close to the lake? from somewhere i heard that the lake moves a few inches every year, But i doubt thats true, what do you guys think?

Thats actually an inlet on the Chicago river. The whole area around the mouth of the river is protected by sea walls.

But anyway you are right. Prevailing winds drive sand away from the beaches to the south and east. Sand is repleneshed on the west of the lake otherwise the shore would just be rocky.

Perhaps the shots Bvictor took of these models could be put on the first page? The stainless steel cladding and light blue tint gives the building an even sleeker and elegant look than portrayed in some of the renderings released. I can't wait until this beauty starts going up.

Regarding these photos --

I figured out how to view these in a proper automatic slideshow sequence.. by default it shows the most recent first so it goes backward in time! Anyway, to view it properly, first go to the slideshow page:

http://www.windychat.com/photos/slideshow.php

Change the Sort Results by to "In Ascending Order".

Select the Spire Building on the right and then click "Start Slideshow".

You may have to click "Start Show" again to get them switching automatically.

best!
Eric
