This is an article about the creation of the video, called "Inspire", that appears to be the full version of the one seen at thechicagospire.com. There are some nice screenshots and a link to download the video (THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST, IT IS AMAZING!!!). Some interesting details from the article:

"The VFX shot required that we fly out 3 miles over the lake at night."

There is a traveling road show for the building, which can be seen in the following cities around the world:

Singapore - March
New York - March
Kuala Lumpur - March
Hong Kong - April

The road show will also visit Shanghai and cities in India, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and South Africa -- dates to be announced.
Wow that was a great video, thank you for posting it. Chicago is badass.

The curvature of the spire is modeled on the mathematics of the golden ratio or the Fibonacci sequence.

The secant wall along the slip ( N Side ) is completed - according to a CASE worker on site. 86' primaries and 40' secondaries.

After visiting the website and observing it, looking all the images the documantary etc. i have to say that this will be one of the best buildings in the whole world. Santiago Calatrava made once again a great job.

@HarryC: Is it possible that you change your location, maybe to the top of the building where you make those shots?
Perhaps we can have a look inside! I'm so interested in how it looks in the hole!

Btw: Whats going on next, after they now finished digging?

Why are you interested? There is nothing but a hole, one or two excavators and a crane, nothing more. After they finish digging they will start to throw steel in the hole and then piss concrete on it.

NO NO NO! The best part of his pictures is the constant angle. Don't change them Harry We'll see stuff rising from the hole soon enough.
