Isn't it stunning!? The only thing that surprised me was: with all the money that clearly went into this production, couldn't they find a more subtle way to pass through the glass in the lobby???? There was this very jarring transition from interior to exterior both going into, and out of, the lobby! Nonetheless, and officially gorgeous video of a gorgeous tower. I've never felt so incompetent.

Great pictures Harry! And wonderful video Andydie! I can't wait to see more progress as the weeks go on. Not to start a war but I can't help wonder if the Chicago Spire will be completed before the Freedom Tower in New York?

The hole reminds me on the hole of the SWFC. The one in Chicago is just much smaller

Difficult to imagine that the groundwork below is for a building that will be 120m taller than the building in the above picture.

Is there any doubt about it? A second Chicago Spire could be completed before Freedom Tower is finished at the rate FT is going. I'd say it was due to union issues but that's as much of a problem in Chicago as it is in New York.

Union issues? Who gives a damn which project is finished first. Both projects are unique therefore both have different construction requirements.

It is union issues. Workers take their sweet time because they can organize and resist their bosses.

Just like Philly. Except nothing EVER gets done in Philly because of the unions.

Is it just me, or does the building seem very thin?

Is it just an illusion? It seems like it's the size of a 7-11 at the base.

Will there be any space inside?

It will be about the same width as the sears tower at the base, except circular. Sears Tower is 225' x 225'.

That happens when the builders read the plans upside down

Ah, so they screwed it up and there will be no real spire, just a 610m deep underground building, what a shame...
