1. How deep is the hole and what do the divided sections of the hole represent?
2. how wide is the base? (i heard it was quite thin, something along the lines of a 1:10 ratio?)
3. what has been the latest significant progress made on the tower?
4. what are we expecting to see happen next within the coming few weeks or couple of months?
5. where will the underground parking lot be located?

Thanks
2.
All of these questions have been answered multiple times in this thread. If everyone would spend a little time reading and less time typing the entire thread would be easier to read because they would be a lot less entries. Please trying reading before asking questions. You will find the answers to your questions many many times probably most of them within the last 10 pages!

1. How deep is the hole and what do the divided sections of the hole represent?
The hole is seven floors deep, the concrete rings are bracing support for the steel sheetwall, the rings will later become part of the basement floors.

2. how wide is the base? (i heard it was quite thin, something along the lines of a 1:10 ratio?)
Yes the height/base ratio is about 10:1. The core is about half the width of the base.

3. what has been the latest significant progress made on the tower?
What you see in the photo updates, currently it's all foundation work.

4. what are we expecting to see happen next within the coming few weeks or couple of months?
More foundation work.

5. where will the underground parking lot be located?
see the plan

Yes, welcome!

Talking about the hole, i expected a longer diameter.. maybe it's just an optical effect, don't know.

If you want to know what the tower will look like, watch this:

http://www.fxguide.com/modules/NewsU...re_fxguide.mov

Anyone who hasn't seen that yet really, really needs to watch it.

The grinders - the object on the right is a chisle, dropped down the shaft to break up rock - or concrete ?

Thankyou So Much for taking your time and answering my questions and also providing me with a link to the tower plan. Things are much more clearer now I greatly appreciate it.

Well do you think they are gonna build a 600-meter high tower on ground level without any ground work or basement work? That's insane. You should know that foundations aren't build in a day. You go dig the ground up and we'll see how fast you do that, shall we?

It's just it seems they've already been digging for six months. How long do they need to dig a hole - a whole year?

Also, what do you know, you are in Helsinki. The ground is so frozen there.
