It is normal that the piles are drilled from a higher level than the final excavation...
They will drill the piles, pour them and then dig out the rest => 7 rings. Normally the concrete at the top is bad quality so they hammer the pileheads away and you have a even ground of the pit.

Next step: Foundation slab, I assume between 3 and 5 meters thick

Another shot of the big grinder

Enough pipe to run it from the top of the pit to the bottom of the caisson.

this is what the developer of the signature tower in nashville tn needs to do. he is targeting the wrong audience here in nashville. anyways... off topic there, lol

thanks for the pics. that is a huge core for a building. i can only imagine how tall it is going to look in person. its a lovely tower.

this building's plot and footprint seem relatively small compared to other mega towers around the world: Taipei, KL, Burj and even the late WTC towers.

Buying at USD900,000+ for a 550+sqf apartment for investment is worrying. A nightmare to me in a way. Could anyone here tell me what the resale opportunities are in Chicago?

Hai guys

Anyone know why the hole is so small? I thought the spire would be bigger than that.
