The latest renders look great. I didn't like this tower at first but it's looking better. I think the real thing will look so much better than the renders.

Those views would be amazing. But it would feel a little bit lonely up there.

Maybe this has been said before, I dunno.

Having been to the top of the Sears Tower and the Hancock Center many times... If I had to live there, I can tell you I'd probably get sick from the motion of the Spire at the top.

March 26 - Ramps

Ramps opening soon

N bound (E) side in the morning, no shack.

At lunch great lighting on the seam between LSD and the ramp.

And a brand new guard shack.

On the southbound (W) side, currently it is an invigorating ride in traffic uphill.

March 26 - Garage Caisson - belling

Drilling a hole and checking it twice ( actually a lot more than twice )

Pulling the bit out - the tall shafts are telescopic so the hole can be twice as deep as the crane is tall

Swinging it to the side to empty out the dirt.

Unlatching the bottom and emptying

closing it back up - crane operator lowers the bit while traversing.

Discussing the finer points of drill bits.

Latching it closed

Shuttle bus showing people the site

With water all around the site, I wonder if they are planning to bring materials and equipment in by barge, rather than trucking everything in through the city streets? I bet there's going to be some massive steel showing up eventually.

Something just crossed my mind about the Spire. It might look really cool before the cladding is put on.

Wow ! Very interesting updates. There is so much work at ground and underground. Will it rise above street level before the end of June?
