April 30 - Noon 2

Clamshell rig has been dis-assembled ( again )

New onramp

The coffe table that moves

Everyone likes a hole

A new hole

New players ( cut the road at the front gate )

The plumbers- rerouting a sewer line ( storm ? )

Trying to figure out what they hit.
Super (?)

Operator

Sometimes you just have to get out and look for yourself

Switching to a smaller shovel - trying to figure out if the long concrete thing has wires in or under it - old Bell equipment ?

Mixer inner thing ( looks like a pump that attaches inline and has a hopper to feed something in )

Pretty

Nice day for a boat ride

^great update harryc. the spire guys must know you by now.
someone asked me recently that spire is much thinner then Sears tower but i think its quite massive.
here is a simple diagram showing wides at certain heights
the sears on the left is the widest angle of sears which is an impressive 98m wide. drawing on left is normal angle

its distance from Sears and hight makes it appear to be skinnier.

Not one post in almost 24 hours. That is uncalled for.

I guess I'm still trying to absorb the fact that The Sears Tower in a few years will no longer be Chicago's even more so the nations tallest skyscraper. The Chicago Spire will be the one carrying the torch. It's even greater because the CS surpasses Sears by a large margin well past it's antenna's!

Hey all. I received an e-mail from the sales office in London, so I thought I'd share.

Quote:
Dear X

I list below a few options for you to consider in terms of size, price and height. This is just a indication of what we have available at the Spire, so please let me know if you would like something higher, lower, smaller or bigger.

The Suites and the 1 bed units come with a rental guarantee and I have attached a copy of an excel spreadsheet which gives you an example of how the rental G'tee works. If you decided you didn't what the rental option then you can deduct 6% off the price I have given you, plus a further $20,000 for the suites and a further $30,000 for the 1 bed apartments if you were not to take the furniture either.

I am attaching a couple of floor plans to give you an example of the layout - however, please let me know if you would like a particular floor plan.

I have given you 4 x view shots also of midway up the building - but, again, once you give me an indication of what unit/s appeal to you in particular, then I will try to match the view nearer to the one that will come from that apartment.

Suites (Studios)

Apartment 9311 $1,117,000 776 sq. ft.
Apartment 6611 $809,000 604 sq. ft.
Apartment 6608 $955,000 604 sq. ft.
Apartment 6108 $935,000 609 sq. ft.
Apartment 4511 $1,062,000 873 sq. ft.
Apartment 2611 $836,000 754 sq. ft.
Apartment 1008 $769,000 872 sq. ft.

1 Bed Apartments

Apartment 12106 $1,388,000 679 sq. ft.
Apartment 11202 $1,482,000 792 sq. ft.

great info green jello.

0.91 a square foot for assesments is rather reasonable considering what the building offers.

Also it looks like the floors over floor 100 go for $2000 a sq ft or more.

How cool would it be to say "yeah I live on floor 115, want to come by?"

Nice! Another long and bandwidth intensive post from vanhenrik that has nothing to do with the thread topic. Way to go man!

to be fair, the pictures are great and may kinda sorta represent a top-floor spire view,m but yeah, just put them in the Chicago forum...

Theres a thread "The Windy City: Photos That Will Blow You Away" if you haven't discovered it yet.
