My question is: Have you ever followed the construction of a supertall building before? Do you have any appreciation for how long ground works take before a building rises? Do you realise that this has taken less time than almost any supertall ever constructed? Have you read any of the 500 posts over the last 50 pages which explain exactly why this thing is taking this ammount of time?

Wow, this has actually been one of the fastest foundation jobs for a supertall that I've seen and yet people think it is going slow!?! Wow.

I have no idea what slow or fast is. Does anyone have an idea as to when they will begin building up? There are rumors going on around Chicago saying they will not begin building the structure up until a certain percentage of units are sold.

I can understand covering the tops of the caissons to allow for easier movement of equipment and for safety but all of this added fill they are now adding doesn't make sense. When they excavate for the garage it's just going to have to be hauled out again. It actually looks like they're capping off the site to reduce water penetration. If that's the case then I'd bet the construction of the tower is going to be delayed significantly. Hopefully this is not the case but it's the only explanation that makes sense.
Unfortunately, only time will tell.

Mud can be a real issue, here ( a few blocks away ) the groundcloth was installed to keep the brick layer from becoming mud/brick. And from SSP Best shot yet of a secant wall with header - the header has not been installed at the CS site yet From Ardecila in the Chicago boom rundown Quote:
