I finally saw the video. I reckon another 4-6 months before we see the core rise. I will have to be patient for this one.

I'll chalk up this one to personal preference with no pretense of right or wrong. I've brought it up before and many had and rightfully so did disagree with me based on thier own preferences.

Neither Chicago Spire or Trump Tower would offer me something I look at as being essential in a condominium: balconies. Give me a unit in Waterview any day.

I don't care how much space, even up to 8000 s.f., those other condos give. I would still demand the need to step out of my home and be outside in the fresh air. Floor to ceiling windows, great and appreciated as they are, would not replace that very real need for me.

And, yes, if I had the money to afford any of the three, the lack of balconies would be a deal breaker for me.

trump has a few units that offer HUGE terraces. (only 4 units I think)

but I agree 100%. I would have a hard time spending $3.4 million on a 3 bedroom condo and not be able to step outside.

They really do take pride in their work and their contribution to America.

"Trump This" was really funny to see, what surprised me more was how good the spraypainted Spire logo looked - that guy must have a background in tagging I mean fine arts

Totally agree. I wouldn't buy any condo, at any price, without a balcony. I'm not sure how much I'd use it if I lived above 30 floors up or so, but having the ability to step out there is definitely a must-have.

I wouldn't live in a building that didn't have operable windows either.

Having said that, I think balconies can really screw up some otherwise great looking buildings.

that's funny. i never even considered the set backs. those units most be the top two setbacks...right?

spot on. it's a necessity for that stepping out and getting some fresh air. could you imagine have a $10,000,000, 8000 sf unit and still have to suffer cabin fever.

my suspicion: you'd use it more than you think. especially since high end condos tend to have large enough balconies that encourage taking advantage of them.
