defined by dictionary.com, trump: to excel; surpass; outdo

Donald Trump's name has nothing to do with the English definition of the word... at least I'm pretty sure the roots of his family name have nothing to do with the English interpretation of the word.

when in doubt, dictionary.com is there

it also applies to cards. It's a technical term when three kings "trumps" three tens or when a full house trumps a flush (poker hands)

HAHAHA HEHEHE 'Trump This' I bet The Donald is quite PEEEEEVED with this! Those workers are damned proud to be working on this magnificent tower! I will watch with extreme interest when this 'top-down' construction begins.

These guys also did the foundation of Trump Tower!

For the dyslexic amongst you, actually it doesn't say "Trump This", but "Trump Tihs"

Tihs backwards spells something a lot more politically incorrect

Of course for those that actually can read sideways at are not dyslexic it really does say "Trump This", an H laying on its side looks like an I and vice versa!

International buyers fueling sales in Chicago residential towers

In Chicago, international buyers are playing a key role in the development of two flashy residential tower projects.

After five months on the market, the Santiago Calatrava-designed Chicago Spire is about 30 percent sold and about half of the buyers have come from overseas, according to a project spokesperson. Dublin-based Shelbourne Development Group pumped up sales with road show stops in Dublin, Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Johannesburg, she said. Sales reps are planning to return to Southeast Asia and China, “due to a mounting number of inquiries in those regions since the initial visit,” she said.

Meanwhile, not far away, the Trump International Hotel & Tower, a 92-story skyscraper with “ultra-luxury condos,” is 75 percent sold, in part thanks to interest from overseas buyers.

While specific numbers aren’t available, sales manager Leah Harriett says the list of buyers includes citizens of India, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, Turkey, Poland, Italy, Germany, Ireland, the U.K., Egypt, Russia and Brazil, “to name a few.”

In recent months, sales reps have been pushing the Chicago tower in Toronto, Panama City, Cannes, Moscow and Madrid, Harriett said. Units in the tower range from $580,000 to about $9 million.

Recent data suggests the Chicago market is weathering the storm better than most American cities. The average home price increased 16.4 percent from the first quarter of 2007, according to the National Association of Realtors.
