It's been like that for damn near 45 years and hasn't been a problem thus far.

Chicago's starting to show futuristic designs like this tower and aqua.
Apparently, you've never seen the Smurfit-Stone Building, 333 Wacker Drive, One Museum Park, Two Prudential Plaza, River City, or (as others have mentioned) Marina City.

Also, several of the proposed towers like 200 North Riverside Plaza, Grant Park Tower 3, and Waldorf=Astoria Tower are very curve-y.

I believe I've mentioned BIRD EYE VIEW therefore, for example 2 prudential plaza, grant park tower 3 and waldorf astoria have angles. (view from the top looking down)

Marina Towers were the tallest residential buildings in the world when completed, a title the CS will hold when completed.

From SSP Rooftop Transmission Towers
The transmission tower on Marina City was very unique.
The WLS tower was a GIANT thermometer, with red lights running vertically.
The thermometer would rise and fall according to the current weather.

1967, photographer unknown.

I remember those towers from when I was a small child and lived in Chicago in 1980 - I used to think that they were so cool, we called them the "corn-on-cob" towers
