What I think is interesting is this project right now is not really geared towards Americans. Every American knows (or should know) not to invest in residential real estate here. But every other country is swooping in because real estate is cheap and their dollar is increasing in value against ours. So even if the property loses value, as long as their dollar is increasing, they are just making more and more. I need to move...

I can't seem to get the WebShots stuff to link properly, go to the "set" link and you can view them at full size.

If it is the year 2020 and this thread is still going on strong and one of the forumers observes, "I looked down into the hole last night and saw a rodent bump into a bulldozer and a crane; I think that is a very good sign for construction," I'll have to start seriously worrying about the viability of this project.

i admit i was wrong. i'm not sure where the buyers are going to come from, but it's getting built and according to a person i know who works at shelbourne, they're all still getting paychecks. this kelleher guy has some enormous cahonas.
If you're not kidding, can I ask your level of confidence that this fabrication is really happening? That would be extraordinary news, especially coming from someone who (with some justification) had been skeptical about this project coming to fruition.

i was completely with you with my doubts. but based on the conversation i had last week, i'm 100% certain they are going to start erecting the superstructure before the first snowfall. mind you the guys i talked to still don't know exactly how it's being funded.

Getting technical here, concrete doesn't dry, it cures. Curing of concrete is actually an exothermic process (generating heat) and if concrete cures too fast it can become brittle. Preventing concrete from freezing before it cures is actually easier in many cases than keeping it from curing too fast and hot weather.

I thought I'd interject a little technical data here to get a discussion turned back towards the subject.
